What does being a UMBC McNair scholar mean to you?:
Being a McNair is being a part of a legacy larger than oneself. Joining the scholars who have come before you in pursuit of a life of the mind, in pursuit of bettering their respective fields, and the pursuit of making the world a place that better represents and serves people of all backgrounds. Being a McNair is a journey through personal growth through scholarship, yes, but perhaps more so the collective journey to support each other in that journey, to become a community that embitters the communities it touches.
