Dr. Youseph Yazdi is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Executive Director of the Center for Bioengineering Innovation & Design (CBID) at Johns Hopkins, where he leads students through translating classroom and laboratory insights into real-world medical technologies. Under his direction, CBID has become a model for experiential education immersing students in clinical environments, guiding them from needs-finding through design, validation, and commercialization, and producing devices that are now improving care in settings around the world. His prior experience guiding early-stage healthcare innovation at Johnson & Johnson, combined with his role directing the Coulter Translational Research Partnership, gives him a rare end-to-end view of how scholarship becomes practice.
