Description
Our Guest Speaker is Dr. Shavern Browne, a Staff Psychologist at UMBC in Retriever Integrated Health. Her undergraduate and graduate education were completed at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City and the University of Missouri, Kansas City, respectively. She supports our students who may be struggling during their university journey. Before her clinical work with students, she provided care to veterans who experienced wide ranges of trauma, helping them reintegrate into life as a civilian. Dr. Browne is passionate about serving individuals who want to live a fulfilled life, and she does this by using a multicultural approach in her service. She considers the whole person and their identities and uses them as agents of change. Dr. Browne is also a McNair Alumna and is thankful for the opportunities provided within this program. She looks forward to giving back to this class of McNair scholars as they navigate and learn skills to help in interpersonal interactions, personally and professionally.
For those who RSVP by February 10, you will receive a free lunch!
