What does being a UMBC McNair scholar mean to you?:
A McNair Scholar is someone who may have been disadvantaged early in life socioeconomically, but has always had a thirst for knowledge and a will to push themselves past their limits/plateus in all aspects of their life, just as Dr. Ronald E. McNair always did. With the guidance and extra support from the program, we can live up to our potential and will earn doctoral degrees in our respective fields.
